Which material should I choose for windows: PVC, wood, aluminium or steel?
There is no single best material: it depends on your needs, the climate zone and your home's orientation. Wood excels at insulation, aluminium allows large openings and lasting durability, PVC offers the best value for money, and steel enables ultra-slim profiles and abundant light. We'll help you choose the right solution.
How important is the choice of glass?
The glass makes up roughly 90% of a window and is often the most overlooked element. Properties such as light transmittance, sound absorption, solar factor and thermal insulation (double or triple glazing, low-emissivity or solar-control) make an enormous difference to comfort and energy use.
What are insect screens and why install them?
They are fine-mesh screens that keep insects out of windows, doors and sliding units. Modern models also filter pollen, allergens and fine dust. Available as sliding, fixed-frame and hinged versions, they suit any interior.
What is the barrier-free magnetic threshold?
It is a threshold made of magnetic seals that close as the door leaf passes, eliminating any step. Ideal for the elderly, people with disabilities and parents with young children, as well as hotels, restaurants and healthcare facilities. It fits both PVC and aluminium doors.
What is the Hybrid X window?
It is an 86 mm hybrid window made of fibreglass-and-PVC composite with steel reinforcements: it allows larger dimensions, up to 50% greater stability than traditional PVC, and a thermal coefficient as low as 0.73 W/m²K — perfect for passive and zero-energy homes.
Are the doors certified for security and fire resistance?
Yes. We offer VKF-certified security doors and EI30 – EI60 fire-rated doors, engineered to deliver safety and protection in compliance with Swiss regulations.
